about

Back in 2012, some experiments in Dada poetry, as conducted by myself and my daughter Angie, suddenly and unexpected yielded:
"My igloo pet spilt the unicorn bird potion over the rainbow popsicle."
This rare, bizarre and other-worldly phrase was clearly uncomfortable and out-of-place in the corporeal world -- unstable, even -- likely to decay at a moment’s notice into a cascading nuclear event. So I immediately set to work to build it a suitable environment. I carefully inserted her/him/it into a surreal sonic landscape, sparsely populated, de Chirico-esque, with 12-string swings, piccolo trumpets, bit-crushed strats, a disembodied Becket-esque brogue, baby grands made of sand, and a gentle, 500lb and 12' tall giant to care for it.
Fast forward a bunch of years, invert the last two digits of 2012, and the igloo pet, wanting a piece of the current home renovation craze, was looking for an upgrade to the pan-dimensional diorama I built back then, no longer content with its linear, spartan lines.
Who do you call to baroquify something surreal without causing a major style meltdown? I mean, I needed reliable people, professionals, people that wouldn't get carried away. But I knew a guy... I knew a guy.
JOHN TABACCO! Along with his army of android angels, John adorned the chilly corners, gargolyed the Brutalist facades, gravitationally lensed the remote objects, planted liquid hedgerows along the electric boulevards, and populated those same streets with all manner of sentient machinery. He shook the whole thing up -- and it's snowing again in the snowglobe! The pet is happy and has left a five star review on Yelp.
