about
A while back, family friend, folk musician and kindred spirit Barbara Bartley Baldwin generously gifted to me a very fine boat bell, one that had adorned, back in the day, her father's yacht. Little did I know that this simple exchange would shortly thereafter intersect nicely with the tongue twisters that my daughter was learning in acting class (e.g. "Theophilus Thistle successfully sifting thistle through the thick of his thumb"). After sampling a number of these alliterations it occurred to me that "a boat bell from Barbara Bartley Baldwin" would make a fine tongue twister. And though she had given the bell to me, it would really sweeten the pot to bend the truth a bit for the sake of consonantal cacophony. Add in a couple of eccentric characters and I thought it would make a fun song. Hope you enjoy it!
